Mission Statement

The mission of the Lynnfield Health Department is to prevent illness, promote wellness, and protect the environment as ascribed in our logo. In these endeavors, the Board of Health will make reasonable policies and regulations to protect and promote the public health and well being of our citizens.

More About Us:
The Lynnfield Health Department is responsible for permitting and inspecting entities to ensure compliance with local health regulations, state sanitary code and environmental code and communicate with state agencies; MA Department of Public Health, Mass Dept of Environmental Protection and Division of Animal Health. The Lynnfield Public Health Department also monitors disease outbreaks and responds to illness reports.

The Lynnfield Health Department also collaborates mosquito control with the Northeast Mass Mosquito Control and Wetlands Management District and the MA Department of Public Health to protect citizens of mosquito borne diseases.

The Following categories fall under the purview of the Lynnfield Health Department:
Title V septic systems, well permitting, food establishments, tobacco control, semi-public swimming pools, tanning salons, recreational camps, animal inspections, housing and nuisance complaints, communicable disease investigations and immunization clinics. We are also a part of the Region 3B Emergency Preparedness Greater Lawrence Coalition, the Health and Medical Coordinating Coalition and the Greater River Valley Medical Reserve Corps. We are part of the Healthy Lynnfield Coalition for substance abuse prevention and wellness.
