Special town meeting on school project Saturday, Nov. 21 at 1:30 p.m. at LHS

A special town meeting will be held on Saturday, November 21, 2020 at 1:30 p.m. at the Lynnfield High School athletic field.

The meeting will take up a single warrant article, which would fund additions to both Lynnfield Public School elementary schools - Summer Street School and Huckleberry Hill School. Passage at town meeting would send the issue once again to voters at a special town election to be held on December 8. Two-thirds of voters present and voting at the town meeting must vote in favor of the warrant article for passage; the special town election will be a simple majority vote.

The meeting is being held outdoors due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Under the state of emergency, legislative bodies, of which town meeting is one, are exempt from the mass gathering limits. However, the Town is taking the recommended precautions on social distancing and other necessary measures. Please plan to bring and wear a mask; also, please dress appropriately for the outdoor weather and consider bringing sunglasses and a water bottle. If you are feeling sick, have COVID-19, or are under isolation or quarantine, please do not attend.

While anyone is eligible to attend town meeting, only registered Lynnfield voters are eligible to vote. Please sign in at the tables set up at the location by the Town Clerk before entering the athletic field.

The warrant and handout for the meeting are attached to this message.
