Winter storm emergency in effect

The Town of Lynnfield is expecting a major snowstorm this weekend with snow accumulation predicted to be between 18 and 24 inches. The storm is expected to begin at 11 p.m. tonight and extend through early Sunday morning. The high volume of snow will be accompanied by high winds.

The Department of Public Works is fully staffed and will have 40+ pieces of equipment available for snow removal on a rotating basis throughout the storm.

HERE'S HOW RESIDENTS CAN HELP.

If you do not need to leave your home this weekend, please stay home. This will make snow removal easier and keep you and those who must travel safer.

Do not park on the street during the snow emergency, which begins at 11 p.m. tonight. A parking ban is in effect from that time to the end of the snow event. Parking on the street will impede snow removal operations.

Due to the length of this storm and the anticipated high winds, we expect that snow removal operations will continue well into Sunday evening. We ask for your patience during this time. If you have an emergency during this event, please call 911.

We thank the residents of Lynnfield for their patience and their cooperation during this storm. Please keep yourself and your neighbors safe.
