Chair Crawford called the meeting to order at 4:02 p.m. He stated that the meeting is being recorded for cable television transmission.
Approval of intermunicipal agreement with Lynnfield Center Water District regarding sharing of services of public works director and town engineer
Town Administrator Robert Dolan explained that this continues the existing sharing of services. Just as the Town has been able to tap into LCWD Supt. John Scenna’s experience for large capital projects, this proposed agreement between the Town and LCWD would allow the District to utilize the experience of the town engineer and public work director on their upcoming large capital projects. The agreement provides for an annual payment to the Town from the District for these services, which will partially offset that payment of the Town to the District for its use of Mr. Scenna’s services. He said it is very cost-effective for both the Town and the District.
MOTION by Mr. Connell, duly seconded by Mr. Dalton: I move that the Board vote to approve the intermunicipal agreement with Lynnfield Center Water District regarding sharing of services of public works director and town engineer. Vote was unanimous.
Approval of renewal of intermunicipal agreement with Lynnfield Center Water District regarding sharing of services and facilities, and municipal water rates and usage
Mr. Dolan said the Town and the LCWD in 2021 entered into an agreement regarding the sharing of certain Town services and facilities with the district, which also included a standard rate for municipal use of LCWD water and the provision of water for certain Town uses. This new agreement reauthorizes and updates the former agreement with adjustments to the water rate. It also provides for use of water at the Common and at the Huckleberry Hill playground.
MOTION by Mr. Connell, duly seconded by Mr. Dalton: I move that the Board vote to approve the intermunicipal agreement with Lynnfield Center Water District regarding sharing of services and facilities, and municipal water rates and usage. Vote was unanimous.
Use of Facilities requests
One request has been received for the use of the Common by the Friends of the Library for their used Book Sale on May 12 and 13.
MOTION by Mr. Connell, duly seconded by Mr. Dalton: I move that the Board vote to approve the Use of Facilities request subject to any requirements imposed by the Public Works Director or Police Chief. Vote was unanimous.
MOTION by Mr. Connell, duly seconded by Mr. Dalton: I move that the Board adjourn. Vote was unanimous.
