Spring has finally arrived and our thoughts turn to our outdoor activities in our backyards, gardens and lawns.  The Lynnfield Conservation Commission and the Pesticide Awareness Committee proudly sponsor a free workshop on “Secrets to a Healthy Lawn” scheduled for Tuesday, April 24, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. in the high school library.

The seminar will provide safe and simple, step-by-step alternatives to the traditional chemical approach to lawn and garden maintenance. You will learn the truth about what is in the bags of material you may currently be putting on you lawn and why it’s important to take a safer, holistic approach. Topics covered include soil testing, re-seeding, organic fertilizers, natural pest and weed control techniques, and organic lawn care.  Do-it-yourselfers and homeowners who want to inform their landscapers will come away with clear, concise guidance.  Handouts will be available on organic pest management methods, human health and environmental health risks from conventional pesticides and guidance on hiring a lawn care professional.

Hope you can join us for this interesting and informative evening!  If you are unable to attend, copies of the material will be available in the Conservation Commission Office at Town Hall.  If you have any questions in advance, please contact Patricia Fabbri at (781) 334-6774 or Emilie Cademartori at (781) 334-9495.
