FEMA - 2012 Maps

Introduction
In 2012, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) revised the Flood Insurance Rate Maps for the Town of Lynnfield. To continue the Town's participation in the National Flood Insurance Program and to avoid suspension from this important program, these maps were adopted at the April 2012 Town Meeting. These maps became effective on July 3, 2012 and are to be used to determine if a property or structure is in the 100 year floodplain.

Instructions for filing Elevation Certificates:
The National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) Elevation Certificate (EC) is an administrative tool used to provide elevation information necessary to ensure compliance with community floodplain management ordinances; to determine the proper insurance premium rate; and/or support a request for a Letter of Map Amendment (LOMA) to remove a building from the Special Flood Hazard Area. Instructions for determining if a property or structure is in the 100 year floodplain:
To determine whether a property or structure is in the 100 year floodplain, please reference the Index Map to determine which panel map contains the area in question. Then open the appropriate panel and reference the legend on the right hand side of the map.
