Support Groups

The Senior Center offers many support groups to help those in the community who are struggling with a wide variety of challenges. All of our support groups are an informal drop-in format and all are welcome. If you or someone you know has a special need, contact the center and we’ll provide assistance.

Groups

Caregivers Support Group

This group welcomes those struggling with the day-to-day care of a loved one. The individual being cared for may be living with the caretaker or in a separate residence. Our facilitator, Michelle Parr, LSW from Greater Lynn Senior Services, leads the group. The group meets on the 3rd Thursday of the month @ 11:00. The focus is on group support and coping strategies.

Low Vision Support Group

This group addresses the needs of those who have experienced a loss of vision that glasses are not able to fully correct. Many members are legally blind but that is not a requirement. The focus of this group is to provide information and education to help people continue to be independent in their daily lives and adjust to their vision challenges. The group meets the third Tuesday of the month @ 10:00.

Diabetes Academy

Our diabetes educator, Jennifer Britton-Colonnese from Lahey Health, will be sharing her insights on diabetes, providing essential tips, and answering any questions you may have. Whether you are newly diagnosed or a seasoned diabetic, this event is a great opportunity to learn more about managing your health.                                                                                                                                                           Additionally, we offer both in-person and virtual attendance options to ensure you can join us in a way that works best for you. I look forward to seeing you there!                                                                   The group meets the last Thursday of the month at 12:30pm.
