Posted on: June 21, 2022 - 11:17am
The Mass. Energy and Environmental Affairs (EEA) has declared a LEVEL 2 – SIGNIFICANT DROUGHT for the northeastern Massachusetts. This follows 3 months of below normal rainfall.
Drought conditions are worsening and we are in the growing season. Everyone needs to be mindful of water use to ensure communities can meet the essential needs of drinking water and fire protection.
WHAT CAN YOU DO?
- Fix leaks
- Limit outdoor watering to hand-held 5:00pm – 9:00am
- Conserve water indoors
- Adhere to water use directives from your local water districts:
- Lynnfield Center Water District – https://lcwd.us
- Lynnfield Water District - https://www.lwdma.us
The attached one page EEA “Drought Alert” provides information on the current drought conditions and how communities across the Commonwealth can do their part.
