Tree Committee to Celebrate Arbor Day April 27th
The Lynnfield Tree Committee invites community members to celebrate Arbor Day on Saturday, April 27th from 10am-11am and enjoy a guided tour of the newly opened Lynnfield Woodlot at 1452 Main Street, Lynnfield. This is a family-oriented, outdoor event will include a trail walk, planting of a birch tree, a children's activity, and the reading of the Arbor Day Proclamation.
Dave Rimmer, Director of Stewardship for Essex County Greenbelt Association, will lead participants through the 21-acre conservation area observing over 3,200 trees. The walk features easy terrain on a wide path that borders the Lynnfield Water District.
The Town holds a permanent Conservation Restriction on this preserved open space that Greenbelt Association owns and manages. Participants are encouraged to carpool and/or park on Friendship Lane. For those with limited mobility, six parking spots are available at the trail entrance.
