Community open house flier

Join the Lynnfield 2040 project team on Wednesday, November 29th from 6-7PM for a community open house at the Merritt Center (600 Market Street, 2nd Floor).

The Planning Board will talk about the goals of the visioning plan project, and members of the project team will share findings from community engagement activities.  All members of the Lynnfield community are welcome to attend and share their feedback.

For some background information, watch the TOWN TALK VIDEO here with Town Administrator Rob Dolan and Planning Board Chair Brian Charville for a quick background on the project and why it’s important.

The Visioning Plan is a community-driven process to shape how Lynnfield should look, feel and operate as a community over the next 10 to 20 years. Ultimately, it should provide a strategic framework for future public decision-making and investments.

This Visioning Plan effort began in February 2023, in collaboration with consultant MAPC (Metropolitan Area Planning Council). Work began by capturing and analyzing existing conditions, and engaging in extensive community outreach to receive input from residents and stakeholders for their views and desires for Lynnfield’s future.

Then Select Board Chair Phil Crawford noted that the Visioning Plan “doesn’t just support the work that we are doing, it defines the work that we are doing.” He further noted the need for an updated plan, particularly in light of the number of young families that are moving into town.
