The Lynnfield Senior Center coordinates a large staff of volunteers. Over 75 dedicated volunteers donate over 1000 hours of service each month. Some offer several hours each week, while others offer several hours each year. Their talents range from teaching classes, cooking breakfast and cleaning to running a thrift shop, assisting visually impaired with shopping, and computer programming. There are many opportunities and anyone interested in volunteering should contact the senior center.
All Volunteers receive training and oversight by a member of the staff until they are comfortable. Volunteer Manuals can be picked up from the outreach office and all volunteers are asked to record their hours each time they work in the Volunteer Book located at the front desk.
Each year, the staff hosts a very special Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon to honor all volunteers who have donated over 20 hours during the year. This is our largest event of the year with more time and funds used to make this day as special as possible for our volunteers.
