Lynnfield Center Water District announces Level 3 water use restriction

The Lynnfield Center Water District announces that it has implemented a Level 3 Water Restriction.

During a Level 3 restriction, outdoor lawn and garden watering is permitted two days per week -- on Tuesday's and Saturday's -- between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. The move to a Level 3 restriction was triggered by the stream flow in the Ipswich River.

The Lynnfield Center Water District maintains a year-round watering restriction schedule mandated by the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection. More information about the restrictions is available online at www.lcwd.us.

"Water restrictions are a fact of life for us during this time of year," LCWD Board of Water Commissioners Chair Robert Almy said. "We ask that all district members adhere to these modest regulations in order to ensure water is not wasted during daylight hours."

First time violators of the restriction will receive a warning, followed by fines up to $250 for subsequent and repeated violations.

Lynnfield Center Water District serves a portion of the Town; the southern portion is served by Lynnfield Water District.
