Town Meeting is Monday night, April 24

Freedom of Speech, by Norman Rockwell

The annual town meeting is this Monday, April 24, at 7:00 p.m. at the Lynnfield Middle School, Main Street. Every registered voter in Lynnfield is urged to attend, listening to and participate in the discussion and debate on the articles in the town meeting warrant, and vote on all the articles and motions.

Among the items that will be voted on are the operating and capital budgets for the upcoming fiscal year starting July 1.

Under the town charter, no business can be taken up unless 175 voters are in attendance. Please help your Town by attending on Monday night and supporting the most democratic form of government in existence, the traditional New England Open Town Meeting, where you, the voters, make the decisions.

This is the symbol Norman Rockwell chose to depict "Freedom of Speech" in his famous "Four Freedoms" artwork, inspired by an address to the nation by President Franklin D. Roosevelt in 1941.
