Veterans Day Ceremony

Honoring All Who Served

Veterans Day Ceremony

Veterans Day is Wednesday, November 11th. Unfortunately, it will be quite different from those we've celebrated in the past. With the pandemic still going strong, I think we would all agree that having our customary celebration would be quite risky. We cannot assemble on the common, and our customary lunch in the Meeting House is also not possible. However, that doesn’t mean we will not honor the brave men and women who have served, and who currently serve our nation to keep us free. Our celebration this year will be virtual. I am working with our Media Department and town officials to make sure we continue this important tradition. Let’s get our children involved by decorating the front doors of your homes in a patriotic theme to honor our nations’ veterans. I am also working with the Lynnfield Mom’s Group on a Veterans/Senior Day parade. At 10 A.M. on Veterans Day, we will assemble in our vehicles in the parking lot of the Our Lady of Assumption Church on Salem Street, where all participants will decorate their respective cars. Remember to wear your masks and practice social distancing. At 11:00, we will proceed to the Lynnfield Housing Authority on Ross Drive. Upon exiting, we will take a right, proceed to Summer Street and continue to the center, where the parade will end. I encourage all residents to join the parade, or show your support along the route. The virtual ceremony will be on the Town of Lynnfield website, Lynnfield's Cable TV stations, as well as social media beginning on Tuesday.

Happy Veterans Day.
