The Board of Selectmen voted to appoint resident K. Erin Hohmann as the newest member of the ConConm during a recent meeting.

"I am interested in getting more involved with the community", said Hohmann. "I have become very concerned about the preservation of our natural resources. I feel like this is a good opportunity to jump in and encourage residents to become more concerned about our resources and maintaining them."

Hohmann served on the Boxford Zoning Board of Appeals from 2002-2007 as an alternate member. She said she was very involved with that ZBA's decision-making process. Hohmann also worked as a real estate appraiser, where she had to evaluate large swaths of land that were not yet built. "I was also involved in a lot of land use studies and anlaysis", said Hohmann. "When you are evaluating raw land, you have to consider the restrictions such as conservation areas. I can read a topographical map and I have skills that I think could be useful."

Board of Selectmen Chair Chris Barrett said Hohmann is "ready to hit the ground running on the Conservation Commission. The great community that we have today is because of the volunteer base that we have. I want to thank you for stepping forward and offering your expertise."
