Tree Committee Launches 1,000 TREES Project

Calling Lynnfield residents, young and old!
1000 TREES Project - dad and 2 kids planting a tree

The Tree Committee has launched an exciting community-based project to plant 1000 trees in Lynnfield. Everyone, young and old, can participate in this endeavor – all while planting trees to beautify our landscapes and capitalize on the tremendous environmental and health benefits that our trees provide us.

The 1000 TREES website is the place to start at www.lynnfieldtreecommittee.org.

There you will learn about the value of planting trees, how to choose the right tree and placement, recommendations for native species, and how to plant and take care of your new trees.

Help us track the 1000 TREES project’s progress by registering your new tree and enter in a drawing to win a rain barrel. If you want a tree planted by the street, contact the DPW office at (781) 334-9500.

Each week we will highlight a different tree and post to the website’s homepage. If you would like to submit a tree in your front yard for us to feature as our Tree of the Week, please email lynnfieldtreecommittee@gmail.com or contact us through Facebook, and you may win a free gift.

The Tree Committee provides stewardship, education, and advocacy to promote and foster awareness and appreciation for out town’s natural tree resources.
